Update on parking and alternative transport

Information regarding parking at the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

Latest Update: Sunday, 16 October 2022, at 9:00 am

Recommended for those driving:

  • It is recommended that those driving to Phillip Island proceed to Cowes and take up the Park and Ride or the MotoGP™ Island Shuttle services - both services are FREE across the event days.
  • Please don't stop in San Remo, instead, park in Cowes and use our Shuttle services that will take you to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Service.
  • Please find a safe and legal park, and walk to the shuttle bus.

IN SUMMARY

- Motorcycles: Motorcycle parking has moved to Patton's (opposite Gate 2) and the Lukey Heights car park (outside Gate 3). Helmet storage remains open.

- Accessible Parking: Has changed - see below

- Drop-off and pick-up point: Those wishing to drop off/pick up their family and friends at a convenient location can do so on Gap Road (next to Gate 3).

- Parking in Cowes: Please find a safe and legal park, and walk to the shuttle bus.

- Island Walk: For anyone coming to Sunday's Island Walk, the free Cowes-Circuit Park & Ride service will start early, targeting first arrivals from 7.30 am.

See further details below.

Due to recent and ongoing rainfall across Phillip Island, significant areas of public parking in and around the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit have been impacted by wet ground conditions, leaving most circuit parking unusable across all event days.

Alternative car parking and transport arrangements are outlined further below.

Parking for motorcycles will still be available at or around the circuit. Motorcyclists will be directed to parking locations upon arrival, subject to availability and ground conditions.

Accessible Parking:

As conditions around the circuit worsen, accessible parking has moved.

  • There will be a designated accessible ‘Park and Ride’ option in Cowes.
  • The accessible car park is located at the Cowes Transit Centre (see map) on Church Street.
  • Customers will be required to show their accessible parking permits to park in this location.
  • Services begin daily from this location at 07:15 am each morning.
  • Customers are required to book the accessible shuttle service via Wheelaway; please call 1800 133 320 to book.
  • The Wheelaway service will drop customers off at Gate 7.
  • Pick-up for return trips back to Cowes will also be from outside Gate 7.

A drop-off and pick-up point will be available on Gap Road for those wishing to drop off/pick up their family and friends and maximise their time at the circuit. This point will provide easy access to Gate 3. (See location)

These changed arrangements are to ensure the safety of all patrons, to avoid vehicles becoming bogged and to make your access to the Grand Prix Circuit as efficient as possible in the expected conditions.

We understand the inconvenience this may cause, and to make your experience as smooth as possible, the following transport options are available to you:

We kindly ask all patrons to allow plenty of extra time travelling to and from the circuit. Please follow the instructions of police, traffic and event staff and follow all road signage as conditions and parking locations may change regularly.

Please stay tuned; we’ll be providing regular updates here.
