Agius and Fernandez wins cap off best attended Australian Grand Prix since 2012

The Liqui Moly Australian MotoGP 2025 saw a massive turnout of 91,245 fans, a non-European Moto2 podium, and a history-making win for Valentino Rossi on four wheels.

There were a lot of fans at the Liqui Moly Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2025. The total estimated attendance for the three-day event was 91,245, with a race day estimated attendance of 38,645. That makes the 2025 event the highest Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix™ total estimated attendance since Casey Stoner’s last win at Phillip Island in 2012.

The unusual Moto2™ podium, with Australian Senna Agius winning from Colombian David Alonso and Brazil’s Diogo Moreira got some people thinking; when was the last time there were no European riders on a Moto2™ podium? We think it last happened in Austria in 2022, when Ai Ogura of Japan and Somkiat Chantra from Thailand led home Jake Dixon (because post-Brexit, British is not really European, is it?)

Raul Fernandez’s win made him the eighth different MotoGP™ GP winner this season. He is also the fifth different winner in the last five races.

The VR46 lads had a great Sunday, with Fabio Di Giannantonio taking second for the Ducati team and Academy lifer Marco Bezzecchi taking third for Aprilia. But before anyone starts thinking that it could have been a little sweeter came the news that Valentino Rossi also won this weekend. The Doctor won the Intercontinental GT Challenge Indianapolis 8 Hour, sharing his Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 EVO with Kelvin van der Linde and Charles Weerts. That makes Rossi the only person ever to win a championship race at The Speedway on two wheels and four.
